Indian drivers converting in NSW now require: the Driver Knowledge Test (DKT) — 45 questions, 90% pass mark; the Hazard Perception Test (HPT) — video-based hazard recognition; and a full practical driving test on NSW roads with a Service NSW assessor. If you fail the practical test, your overseas driving privileges are permanently withdrawn — you must start as a NSW learner driver from scratch.

DKT, HPT and Practical — What Indian Drivers Need in NSW

Driver Knowledge Test (DKT) — 45 questions on NSW road rules, signs and intersection procedures. Pass mark is 90% (41 correct). Computer-based at Service NSW. $57 per in-person attempt, or one fee for unlimited online attempts.
